TBM Avenger Flight Demonstration
October 17, 2020
National Museum of World War II Aviation Special Event
Let ‘em fly! The TBM “Avenger” is back in the air.
Saturday, October 17, 2020
On October 17, the museum will open its doors early for a special event featuring a flight demonstration by one of the museum’s historic World War II aircraft—the TBM “Avenger” Torpedo Bomber.
Throughout WWII, the Avenger played a key role in sinking Japanese warships in the Pacific Theater of War and protecting supply convoys from German submarines in the Atlantic Ocean. It is one of the most iconic aircraft flown by the U.S. Navy during the war and is the type of plane that President George H.W. Bush flew in the Pacific.
