Special Event-World War II Veterans at the Museum

On Saturday, April 10th, the National Museum of World War II Aviation will have the honor of hosting nine World War II Veterans at the museum. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there will be no formal presentation at the event. However, the veterans will be seated at tables where visitors can approach them individually, ask them questions and hear about their World War II experiences. Museum Hosts will be available to introduce visitors to the veterans and assist with photo opportunities.
This special event will be open to all museum visitors and will take place in the southwest corner of the Kaija Raven Shook Pavilion. Ask the museum staff for directions when you arrive at the front desk.
Scheduled to appear at the event are:
Les Frey—A B-25 top-turret gunner
Cole Griego—A medic who served on Iwo Jima
JJ Inman—Flew P-51s with the Flying Tigers in China, 1944-45
Wayne Daniels—A B-17 pilot who was shot down and held as a POW
Ed Beck—A soldier who was taken prisoner and escaped during the Battle of the Bulge
Roy Easton—Served stateside as a B-17 and B-29 mechanic
Bill Roche—A B-17 waist gunner who was shot down twice and spent time with Allied Russian forces in the Soviet Union
Ted Langowski—Served stateside as a medic
Victor Santiago—A soldier who was training stateside when the war ended
