National Museum of WWII Aviation Special Event-Early U.S. Aircraft Carrier Raids – Flight Demonstration-SBD Dauntless Dive Bomber

The next in a series of special events at the museum is slated for Saturday, March 19. The event will include a history presentation on the U.S. aircraft carrier raids on Japanese-held islands early in World War II. These raids came in response to Japan’s December 7, 1941 attack on Pearl Harbor and led up to the turning point in the Pacific at the Battle of Midway.
This one-hour event will be held at 9:30 am in the WestPac Hangar located on the museum campus. The presentation will be made by John Lynch, a museum docent and former U.S. Navy officer.
The museum is planning to to fly its rare Douglas SBD Dauntless dive bomber, weather permitting.

10:30 am SBD Taxi and Take-Off
