Give A Marketable Security To The Museum
Gifts of publicly-traded securities can be a tax-wise method of giving because you:
- may claim a charitable tax deduction based on the gift’s full fair-market-value (average of the high and low trading price on the transfer date) of the security.
- avoid paying capital gains tax on the security if it has appreciated since you acquired it.
If you would like to initiate a securities transfer to the National Museum of World War II Aviation, please contact us at donation@worldwariiaviation.org for instructions.
Give Through Your Donor Advised Fund
Individuals 72 and older must take a Required Minimum Distribution from their traditional IRA each year. This RMD can be directed as a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) to reduce taxable income.
Additionally, those 70 1/2 and older can make a QCD up to $100,000 that will reduce their taxable income. You pay no income taxes on the gift. The transfer generates neither taxable income nor a tax deduction, so you benefit even if you do not itemize your deductions.
Individuals should contact their IRA custodian to request a direct QCD be made to the Museum of World War II Aviation. Please contact us at donate@worldwariiaviation.org with any questions or to let us know that you have made the request.

If you have made such a provision, please advise us at donate@worldwariiaviation.org for more information.
